Super chill, easy-going angel and photographer with a never-ending urge to keep moving.
Often looks like he hasn't had a chance to shave or sleep in a little too long. Dresses comfortably, tends to wear layers so he's prepared for any kind of weather. Usually has his camera bag and backpack with him at all times. Extremely near-sighted and always wearing glasses; he owns contacts, but doesn't use them very often. Wings resemble a blue jay's; when pulled in, they take the form of two dark blue slashes of color across his shoulder blades.

Zip is easy-going to the point of occasionally driving people mad with how little he seems to care. Which is not quite accurate -- he does care, a lot, and pretty deeply, about a lot of things. But very little of those things are challenged by or even effect his day-to-day life, meaning he comes off as unbothered by most things. Life just tends to roll over him, and he takes it as it comes. When he does care, he can be incredibly stubborn and determined, but he saves that for when it matters.
He's pragmatic and perceptive, and good at making connections between things and figuring out puzzles. But he can be hands-off a lot of the time; he'd rather let someone else make decisions and just hang back with his camera. Photography is his first love, travel is his second, and he can talk about either for ages if you let him get started. The itch to move is always strong in him; the closest thing he has to a home base is swinging back around to visit his brother a couple of times a year, and other than that, he lives out of suitcases, crashing with friends and family when he can and at motels when he can't. The family is pretty wealthy overall, and he's not ashamed to take money from them to finance the lifestyle he wants to live, though he does sell his photographs as well.
He's forgiving, occasionally to the point of being mistaken for a doormat; Zip believes the best in people, and he figures he's in a position to give them multiple chances where others might not be. He doesn't mind letting himself get trampled in the process, because it could be the thing that helps someone on a better path. So far, this hasn't gone too badly for him, maybe because he rarely stays in the same place long enough to keep being taken advantage of for long.
He's an extremely creative person, and mostly channels it into his photography, but he likes to experience all kinds of arts, and is always happy to sit and listen to people talk about their artistic passions. Overall, he's very comfortable with himself, who he is and what his life is, and his biggest hope is that it doesn't have to change anytime soon.

His parents are loving, but Zip comes by his wanderlust from both of them; while they tended to trade off staying in place until he and his brother were adults, now that they don't need to be taken care of, both of his parents move nonstop as well. His brother Del is the only one who stays rooted, and Zip considers where Del is to be the closest thing he has to a permanent home. He loves his brother deeply, and he's the only person Zip would drop everything and stop traveling for, if he asked.
Yet, at least. Because Zip is a Guardian Angel, and he's well aware that there's a ticking clock in the form of his destined ward out there somewhere. He doesn't actively avoid the possibility -- some Guardians try very hard not to make eye contact to avoid setting off the bond, and Zip isn't one of them -- but he's nervous about it. He likes how his life is, and he doesn't want to have to reshape it for someone who might not want to live the same way he does.
He's in his 40s, though he looks younger due to slow angelic aging, and he's been traveling around and living this way more or less since hitting adulthood. Zip's always known what he likes and who he is, and he doesn't see the point in trying to make himself live another way when what he has now is the most exciting thing he can picture.

Angels and demons don't usually get along, and tend to keep to the respective areas where their kind is more prominent unless they're making trouble. However, opinions vary on this, and Zip and his family tend to be less wary of demons as a rule, probably because there's quite a few other angels who'd say their family is almost as bad.
